Supporting the Next Generation: Castell Wealth Management and the Mike Amos Letchworth Golf Foundation

At Castell Wealth Management, building strong relationships has always extended beyond financial planning. We believe there is real value in supporting the communities, causes and initiatives that matter to our clients.

That is why we are proud to support the Mike Amos Letchworth Golf Foundation (MALGF) at Letchworth Golf Club – an organisation with a particularly special connection to one of our clients.

The Foundation is named in memory of former Letchworth Golf Club President Mike Amos, the grandfather of a Castell client, who made a significant contribution to county and junior golf.

Today, his legacy continues through an independent Foundation dedicated to creating opportunities for young golfers and supporting their development within the game.

Working closely with Letchworth Golf Club, its PGA professionals and junior section, MALGF provides financial support for young golfers across a range of abilities. Funding contributes towards coaching, mentoring, competition entry fees, travel and other costs that can arise as talented young players progress.

Importantly, its work reaches beyond those already competing at an elite level. The Foundation supports junior golfers throughout their development, from young people experiencing golf for the first time through to those competing at county, national and open events.

Its support has also helped to make golf more accessible within the wider North Hertfordshire community. More than 800 children were introduced to golf through its schools initiative over a two-year period, while the Foundation continues to provide financial backing for Letchworth Golf Club's Junior Coaching Programme.

On 14 May 2026, Castell hosted a special client event at Letchworth Golf Club to raise awareness of the Foundation and the work it does.

It was an opportunity to bring clients together in a relaxed setting, while shining a light on a cause with a genuine connection to the Castell community.

For us, supporting MALGF is particularly meaningful because of that personal link. Behind the Foundation is a family legacy that has developed into something capable of creating opportunities for generation after generation of young people.

The impact of the Foundation can already be seen throughout Letchworth's junior golf programme. Funds raised have supported coaching and tournament participation as well as broader grassroots initiatives. The Foundation has also helped fund PGA traineeships, contributing towards the development of young people who hope to build careers within the sport.

Our relationship with Letchworth Golf Club also continues out on the course, with Castell Wealth Management proudly sponsoring the 4th hole.

For us, the sponsorship represents more than having the Castell name on the course. It reflects our commitment to supporting an organisation that is investing in its young people, its members and the wider local community.

Golf can offer young people an unusual combination of sport, discipline, confidence and social interaction. Through the work of MALGF, more young people are being given the opportunity to experience those benefits and, for some, to develop their talent considerably further.

There is something fitting about supporting an organisation built around creating opportunities for the next generation.

Much of our work at Castell is centred on helping individuals, families and business owners think beyond today – protecting what they have built, preparing for the future and considering the legacy they would like to leave behind.

The Mike Amos Letchworth Golf Foundation is a wonderful example of what a legacy can become when it continues to be nurtured by the people who follow.
